I do not even feel like posting:(

We are still shocked and saddened by the death of a DHS student and athlete. Just a waste...and, so senseless.

Well, this bag is for a friend who wanted a bag to wear with her "browns". Plus, I received my name tags in the mail so those will now be on the bag. Inside, not like Kate Spade on the outside..

Very Sad

A Dalton High Football player was shot and killed today at the local community center. I don't know any details but he was a patient of my husband's. He was a college prospect and had a bright future ahead of him. If everyone cared and nobody cried...If everyone loved and nobody lied....If everyone shared and swallowed their pride...Then we'd see the day when nobody died... .

Blogger Bookclub Burning Bright

I decided to go ahead and begin the comments about the book. I hope you enjoyed it. Leave your ideas about any great summer reads for our next book. I'll draw for the bag soon!

Welcome to the World

Suburban Momma had a little bambino recently, and she has shared her preparations for the babe with her brown and pink nursery, so I made the precious one a small gift.

Thank you for letting me share my ideas and for all the other bloggers out there doing the same. It is a great outlet for me. After graduation in a week, I plan to put some items on Etsy.

My favorite...today

My friend's b-day is in December and I gave her the same thing I gave all the girls in my bible study...I told her I still owed her a b-day gift. So, I saw this bag on a woman at a baseball game this weekend and I totally copied the idea. It goes over the shoulder and across the body. Perfect for change, lipstick and , for me, sunflower seeds!

Date Day

Hubby had a surgery case cancel so he was home early. We played nine holes of golf and had lunch at our home golf course. Perfect weather and perfect day....I even had par on two holes!

My Oldest Son

My son is leaving middle school so we are a little emotional around here. Last night he received some awards, but his biggest accomplishment was earning the Scholar Athlete Award! He also has a cute little girlfriend and tomorrow is her birthday...so I made her a preppy bag. This is my favorite so far but I still need to work on my sewing skills. Maybe I just need to design and hire someone to sew them for me. Then I would be in business...literally!

Small Gifts

My seven year old goes to a gifted program one day a week and these are his gifts from Two's Company. The keychain I did monogram. I feel like an underachiever as I usually monogram something a little nicer. But, if you are like me and hyperventilating right now, I am doing the best I can.

Oh, and speaking of my precious angel: This weekend in between ball games, my husband saw the 14 year old boys throwing the ball hard at "precious one" and hubby told them to go easy. The older ones said "What'? he just told us we "freakin' sucked"...lovely, just lovely...third child language?

A small sampling of my preppy shoes

These are what I own, but these are what I want...so NOT preppy...

Bartering

Yellow is the hot color this season. I am bartering with someone from Touch of Whimsy. How fun! Thank everyone for your comments on the bags. They are by no means perfect but I can tell by the comments what you like and don't...so, before I dive in to selling, I want to perfect my product.

Mary Jane Farms Organics

I love these towels from Mary Jane Organics. I purchased these at Belk's/ These are for a friend's daughter who's graduating. I tried to use earthy colors to match the tags...click on the pic to enlarge.

Summer Lovin'

I found this turtle fabric yesterday. I normally wouldn't do fringe, but I liked this fringe and wanted to use it. Makes it fun but not quite as simple as I would like. The pinks match much better than this picture is showing. Happy Weekend!

Change

I don't know why I put the May 28th date down for Book Club comments, as that is Memorial Day! I hope everyone will be having fun on a lake somewhere. Let's say the 29th for Book Club and hopefully, you'll finish up by that weekend. I take back what I said about the book so far as this weekend I had time to read. So far, I am am enjoying it. I love historical fiction...

The Rock Slinger

My daughter was in this musical tonight at my church and my dearest friend is their choir director. It was WONDERFUL...My daughter played a Philistine and had a solo. I have gotten so paranoid about showing family pics...Did you notice I deleted all of my pictures off my home page? Anyway, I was very proud...It's that time of year to wax nostalgic...

Vintage Find...Lilly!

My neighbor called and said to come look at these fabric squares she bought at Pawley's Island in the late 60's...when Jackie was sporting Lilly. She has offered to give me what I want. What will I make????I love the green with the chickens...

I am a

What Flower
Are You?

It says I am a prankster but friend first and love to make people laugh. I even took the quiz again changing a few answers and it was still this flower.

I am Struggling...

How is everyone doing on our book of the month Burning Bright? No offense to Tracy Chevalier, but I am just not "getting into it." I will keep plugging along but our next book will need to have a romance, an affair and a murder... The circus in this book is based on the Philip Astley circus of this time period. For more updates, I read that Barnes and Noble also was using this book in their book club. Tune in on May 28th. Remember to comment, positive or negative, and have a chance at a monogrammed bag.

Graduation Gifts

These are some towels I did for a friend. She is adding a brown and pink hot iron covers to this gift. These are five dollar towels from Walmart. I've monogrammed hundreds of towels and these are just as nice as any I have done.

Study in the Making

We have been in this house for seven years now and I am just getting started on hubbie's study. It was formally a nursery and guest room. This is the first piece I have bought...or that has arrived. I'll keep you updated on the making of this room!

May Madness

Is the stress rising in you and the family? My children are so "done" with school and I can not say I blame them. My oldest leaves tomorrow for a challenge trip...to the Amish Country and Phillie. And, they get to attend "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Pray for me...this is my firstborn son and you know how that goes. He is supposed to return on Monday morning...I have been busy as a bee monogramming and sewing for graduation.

Today, I also made part of a meal for my friends who lost a family member. I baked a pound cake with a Lemon Glaze...

Where Did April Go?

Wow...Happy May Day! I feel I have spent my day wandering aimlessly and getting nothing accomplished...including , having an afternoon nap and coffee! So I am up way past my bedtime. Stayed up late last night watching Wedding Crashers as my neighbors' son was on...His wedding was in Las Vegas...I never watch T.V. (I am boring like that) but I partied last night..if u will , and stayed up til midnight...wow! Today, I went to Tuesday Morning where they had Peacock Ally Linens on sale. Thinking about graduation...Bought a cotton blanket for my bed and a couple of cotton throws for twenty bucks!

These towels, which are normally $35.00 were $9.99...They also had some great Nicole Miller ones for $4.99...more up my ally...
